dreaming lost chances
Last night when I was trying to get to sleep my brain wouldn't shut off....I kept saying to myself just close your eyes and dream about doing Tony Stewart or Brad Pitt in an elevator in Las Vegas.......my brain was denying me that chance for a moment of woohoo's
My brain then said to me, nope we are going to delve into your past and think about all the men that you should have said yes to instead of saying no thanks. We aren't talking about sex we are just talking about men who were interested in me when I was younger but I wasn't interested in them because I was in love with the baddest boy in town. Talk about lost chances, especially in hindsight when the baddest boy in town was all that and more.
Why are women attracted to bad boys?
Why do we only want men that we know will treat us badly and leave us wounded for years?
I let my bad boy destroy me for many years, the only good thing to come out of my relationship with him was my beautiful daughter, who is and will be the only good thing to come out of that family gene pool. The other good things are that I was lucky enough not be stuck with him and that Tim has aged terribley and I haven't....LOL
What comes around goes around, it's just you might not get the pleasure of seeing it happen.
Oh yeah, 15 more days til the crust of the earth will well up and swallow me whole into that evil heartless age of 40............Please let 40 be the new 30 pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee

yeah, michelle, 40 IS the new 30, and I'm hopin' that in three-plus years, 50 will be the new 20.
when that magical day comes for ya, just adopt my mantra ...
"i'm just happy to be here, i'm just happy to be here, i'm just happy ....."
Michelle, when you figure out why so many attractive women are intent on chasing bad boys, please let me know.
This is a phenomenon I have researched for over 20 years, one which I first became aware of while a musician.
I would play in bars and watch beautiful women leave with the absolute scum of the earth.
(Jealous? Yep. Absolutely.)
In fact, I once wrote a couple of songs about it.
Here is the chorus to one...
"I'm going to by me a beat up pickup truck,
With rust holes underneath,
Forget to take a bath for a couple of days,
Knock out my front teeth.
I'm gonna quit my good job and sell my nice house,
Rent a trailer by the week,
Get drunk every night and start a few fights,
Then maybe they'll want me."
Obviously a country tune. I wrote it as a tribute to a guy who actually was missing his top two front teeth (rotted out, not knocked out). Aside from being dentally challenged, I've been told he was hot. (Personally, I couldn't see it.)
And well-endowed. (Personally, I absolutely DIDN'T want to see it.)
He used to request that song whenever he came in. And when he left, there was always a beautiful girl on his arm, on her way back to his trailer.
So when you figure out the whole "bad boy" mentality, please give me a heads-up.

You've got me blushing, Alison.
I was that "knight in shining armor" during my dating days.
Yep. Calamitous.
Excellent explanation. It's also a lot more positive than my fear, which was that at their core, most people want to be bad.
Your theory is refreshing, because it hints that we are all good people at heart, trying to "save" someone, which is the most heroic and noble endeavor in life.
Which means that beautiful women are people too.
Thanks!
